AR February 2022: Animals

As humans, we have curated a world that disengages us from other animals. Within the confines of brick, wall, fence and chicken wire, animals can roam - but only so far, and movements of rats scuttling, birds flying, and insects crawling are distanced and contained. This issue explores how we build around, for and against other animals - from cow sheds and buffalo barns to dog schools and penguin pools. And as we imagine the necessary future of multi-species coexistence, we confront the reality that this must go beyond the confines of human imagination
