The devotional chapel - Class A in our assessment of needs - is momentarily at a discount. In Roman Catholic Churches the cluster of side chapels has disappeared. Most Vatican I! churches have only one, set aside for the reservation of the sacrament. This example in a new church in via Parea, Milan (architect Guido Maffezzoli), left, is now an exception. Shorn of its baroque past, the form retains immense human appeal.
