Paolo Didonè, Sergio de Gioia and Fabrizio Michielon’s Pencil Box in Modena, Italy

This school located in Modena was built in 50 days after the catastrophic earthquake in Emilia-Romagna

Paolo Didone, Sergio de Gioia and Fabrizio Michielon worked together on this competition in 2012. The building has a concrete wall that acts as a fence and a rest for the building, while at the same time conveying an idea of strength and protection for parents who bring their children to school. The classroom openings are regulated by coloured pillars that mark the main facade.
